Parking Guidance Systems, LLC
Regional Sales Director

I would like to express my interest in applying for an open position on the TPTA Board of Directors.

In December 2017, I graduated from the University of Texas with my Master’s in Accounting and accepted a position with KPMG as a Federal Tax Consultant. In August 2018, I quickly realized that I was not passionate about my career and made a life-changing to decision to transition into the parking industry. Shortly thereafter, I attended my first parking networking experience at the TPTA Round Table in Norman, OK. It wasn’t but an hour after walking in, having only known three people and not knowing what the acronym “LPR” stood for, that I felt as if I had joined a family who was gifting me with years of parking wisdom. Having spent two full days with Parking Directors, Enforcement Officers, Technology Vendors, and Consultants, I walked away with a new profound respect for the parking industry and the desire to become more intimately involved with the TPTA.

Through three years of continuous involvement in tradeshows and networking events, The TPTA has helped me expand my network tremendously and has been a pivotal role in my career development. I’ve repeatedly exceeded the goals set forth by both myself and management, which has led to the transformation of my role. What started as a regional sales position, has now evolved into a versatile role tasked with key decision making in all facets of our business. Below, are several of my responsibilities, which I believe will serve as a strong foundation in a role with The TPTA Board:

• Growth – Identifying opportunities and establishing a go-to-market strategy

• Marketing – Establishing creative and effective methods of communicating the value our solutions provide

• Branding – Creating a new website that has enhanced our customer capture rate

• Management – Responsible for managing a marketing team that creates social media posts, ads, and articles

• Accounting – Developing strong internal processes for job cost assessments and billing procedures

• Organization – Implementing internal software applications to enhance sales trackability and communication

I’ve interacted with many regional parking associations through my efforts of expanding our technology into new markets. The TPTA is convincingly the strongest of all regional parking organizations and is because of exemplary leadership. Tone at the top is a vital factor of any organization’s success and, for The TPTA, begins with the Board of Directors. I understand the leadership traits that should be exemplified by Board Members and am confident in my ability to do so.

I am hopeful that this letter demonstrates my excitement for the opportunity to serve on The TPTA Board. I believe that if I were elected, current TPTA Board Members can expect adding a resource that will provide value and creativity to the organization through relentless effort and good faith. I am confident that my skill sets can contribute to a wide variety of tasks, including expansion of membership, enhancement of outreach and networking events, and any financial/accounting expertise.

I’d like to thank you for your time and consideration, in addition to striving to make The TPTA such a great organization to be a part of.

Sincerely,

Dylan Prep
